Mrs-O.org Site Changes

For the past few weeks, we've been preparing to migrate Mrs-O.org to a new platform. The migration begins this afternoon, and will take 12-24 hours to complete. Once migrated, the new and improved Mrs-O.org will include user registration, as well as a new discussion board (by request!). There are still a few things to be worked out in terms of site function and aesthetics, but we'll happily fine tune with your collective input. As always, email me at contact@mrs-o.org with any feedback.
Update: Thank you for all of the positive feedback thusfar! To answer a few other inquiries that have come up:
- The site is still transitioning from old to new, which I believe is why not all of the photos are loading yet. This should be resolved by tomorrow morning.
- User registration is a feature that was requested by a wide range of Mrs-O.org regulars. All content on the site will be visible without registeration, but to automatically comment or participate in the discussion board, you will need to have a member account. You actually can still comment without registering, however the comment will sit in moderation until it is manually approved.
- For those having trouble registering, some errors may be due to the site migration. If you're still having problems tomorrow, please do let me know.
- On a Mrs. O note - We hope the first lady is enjoying her mini-vacation in London! We heard she was wearing a Hussein Chalayan silk dress at the House of Commons yesterday.
PHOTOS: Thank you for the emails re: photos. They're not loading for us either! They may need to be manually re-uploaded which we'll begin ASAP this morning. Thanks for your patience as we work to correct this.

Photos don't come up anymore since the change over!
They're still on earlier posts. I'm sure it's just a glitch.
just testing
love the new layout
There is something wrong, everytime i come to this website, it seems that the pictures don't appear, I guess it is the new web page set up.
Wow! I pressed refresh and there it was! It looks so polished!
Mrs T, you're a marvel. Look what you created!!!!
Now I have to remember what it was I was going to post.......!
I luv the new site!
yes everything looks so polished
Like the new site. Really fun and flirty, just like Mrs. O!
what's up with the security warning I get each time I click on a link, refresh the page, or try to post a comment? It's really annoying.
i love the website!! BUt am I the only one who cant view any pictures?
Were are the pictures?
ooo, pretty :)
Love, love, love it! The colors are pretty - gray, black, white, plum. It's a very fashion-forward layout for a fashion inspired blog! :)

Looks great from my Iphone
I can see pix on every page but the first page. So I'm assuming it's just a coding error that'll be taken care of in time. It's fun to go all the way back to the very first post!
I can't see most of the pictures!!! I'm sure it's just a glitch.
I love the new layout!
i can't enjoy the new site because i can't see the new pictures or the layout really..mrs.0 always worked for me before. hopefully it will later. congrats Mrs. T
Until things get a little clearer here, the White House photo stream has released 60 new pictures of the president and family in the Middle East and Europe. I'm going to try and post the link and see what happens.

Hi, Mrs. T. Congratulations! Haven't checked it out yet, but I'm sure it's great. I'm writing because I had a problem with the registration. I'll try contacting you separately, via Contact.
Love this picture:

Hi, Mrs. T, I just sent you an email with details on the error messages I got trying to confirm my registration. I don't understand, since I am able to post comments here. Perhaps the old comment system is still working?
I, too, am not seeing photos. I tried "refresh" as some suggested, but still no pics. Did this several times, so think they may not be coming through. Am writing you separately with my computer/browser specs, in case that's the problem.
Hi everyone,
1) I cannot see any of the pictures.
2) I've tried to register, but have not yet received a confirmation email giving me a password with which to confirm my registration.
I'm looking forward to enjoying the wonderful new site when all the glitches get worked out.
Thank you, Mrs. T, for your efforts to accommodate the community you've attracted.
can't get pictures, either.
Mrs. T, Thank you so much for using darker print for our messages. They are so much easier to read. Putting them on a blue background also seems to help the print to pop.
I'm working on a Mac. Sometimes creators of new pages need to do special things to allow Mac users to access all the features. (I'm not seeing the pictures)
Also, most of the messages from the thread Pink and Punk didn't come across to the new site.
Test
Mrs. T, I just wrote you another email. It seems there is a disparity between the Author name for commenting in the Home Page regular posts, and the LogIn name required for commenting in the Chat threads.
The problem appears to be the way the Registration boxes have been set up and titled. My email gave suggestions for changing them to make them more clear. When registering, I thought I had to give my real, full name. But I thought only my screen name would appear on the site. But when I logged in, using the log in key on the webpage (the email links to do so still do not work), I saw that my login name was my real name, not my screen name.
For professional reasons, I cannot have my real name appear on the site, so I have asked you to Un-Register me. Please email me to let me know I've been Un-Registered, and I will try Re-Registering using my screen name.
It appears that one does not yet have to "log in" to comment on the posts on the Home Page, one can still use the old system. I think it might be better to have login required for BOTH the Home Page post comments and the Chat comments. But login registration should permit a screen or author name to appear, not the real name.
Wow ...
How does one register?
Mrs. T, just to let you know everything looks fine for me except that photos aren't loading.
I'm using Safari on a Mac.
@Alsace - I had the same problem you did with my real name showing as my user name. Here's what I discovered. After you log in, click on your name that appears next to the word "Login". that will take you to your profile. You will be able to remove your real name from the "Display name" line, and put your user name in that box. You will be able to remove all other information from your profile.
I've never seen a site that didn't use the "user name" as the "display name", but it can be fixed.
I hope this helps.
@ Willow -- Thank you so much! Clicking on the login name brought up the profile and when I changed the display name, it changed the login name instantly! You are a whiz!
Mrs. T -- Can you let readers know about this option? Also, you no longer need to Un-Register me. The problem has been taken care of.
Thanks again, Willow, for your computer intuitiveness.
==============
WOW! I just noticed the "revise comments" option. It said I had 11 minutes left, so I'm adding this line. If this works, it is a great addition!!!
what is wrong with the pics?
Here is an article with a pic of Mrs. O at the Westminster Abbey today June 9 in London. I like her tunic and pants, although it is different.

Test.
@Alsace - I'm so glad you got it straightened out. Feels good, doesn't it? Adding an instruction about that would be very helpful.
The time to revise a comment is wonderful.
When all the kinks get worked out, this is going to be a fabulous site.
I'm looking forward to getting the pictures.
Cheers ;-)
@Willow, I just tried to send you an email using the system (click on author/recipient name, send email). But I don't think it worked. I think we have to leave our email addresses in our Profile for the system to know where to send emails. I am going to put my e-address back into my profile for a short time. Can you do the same? Perhaps it will work then. My thought is to remove my e-address from my profile as soon as I've heard from you. Perhaps that might be the most secure way to handle this?
==========
Willow, I just added my e-address and was able to send. However, when I clicked on your name in the post above, it said, "This post was made by anonymous poster, the author is not registered and cannot receive email," or words to that effect.
The email I thought I was sending you earlier was actually sent to my own address, so I know the system does work once there is an e-address in one's profile. Let me know when you add yours!
Have you guys seen this pic? So beautiful! Everyone loves our Mrs. O.

Looks great, but I'm not getting pictures either. And, though I'm registered, when I click on the links in the confirming email I get a security warning.
I know this will be fixed quickly, but I want to play now!!
Christina, thanks for sending the WH pics. That will amuse us for a little while!
I was just at Westminster Abbey...three weeks ago? Four? I took a little vacation to London. If only my timing had been better!
And Mrs. T, the new site looks great -- thank you for all the work you've done, and continue to do.
Thanks Mrs. T - this is great!
hello all!
The difference between the graphic for a "registered commenter" and an "unregistered commenter" is ever so subtle. There's only a slight difference in shade: registered is darker.
@Alsace - I just checked your profile and didn't see any info at all. It's now 5:08 on the West Coast. I could put my email address up as soon as I know you're there. We could check them quickly, and then delete. I'll stay close now to watch for message from you. Better yet, let's move this to chat. I'll try to post on chat, you answer, we'll do the thing quickly. OK?
Congratulations Mrs T!
whoa...Mrs. O in HIDEOUS attire yesterday in London. I'm really really shocked she is on most of the time i don't see how she could be so far off. it must have been a joke.

That is quite an outfit Mrs. O was wearing in that link, Rory. It's definitely quirky. She gets props for being so DARING!
I'm getting an error message after I register
Rory, I liked the second outfit alot. I loved that patterned dress wuith the blue cardi!
