Here’s one of the BEST links to photos of today’s event with the Obama family and Bo

http://journals.democraticunderground.com/Jackeens/119

Photo #7 has lots of jacket detail.

Photo #27 of Michelle is awesome in my opinion!
Good close up of shoes, face, and hair.

I love this family!

Well, at least your not drolling on and on about Ms. Obama's clothes anymore. Thank you Bo. How about giving Michelle the respect she deserves as an accomplished woman,
business woman and mother and give the clothes reviews a rest.

Oh Jean, you've failed to read the header that simply says "Follow the Fashion of Mrs. O: What & Who She's Wearing.
Anyway the Obama family looked really nice with Bo. FLOTUS simple chic shines in the video and photos I have seen so far as well.

Jean,
This website is a fashion blog.
You will see at the top right of the page it says:

I like Bo's white socks, one big and the other small. He looks like he is going to be one handful, though.

C-Span has an ELEVEN MINUTE video of the Obama Family and Bo.
You can hear a lot of the reporter's questions and answers on this one - and Michelle talks a bit when they first come out of the White House:

This was wonderful footage of the family and Bo on the BBC–the audio is really great. You could tell that Sasha is very timid, and Michelle does look like a first time dog owner. But if they need help, I’m sure they’ll be able to find a good trainer.

WHY have theu got all that press there.....well maybe its where i come from i just dont get it all the fuss over the dog

As a dog ownner -- I was hoping the Obama's would get a Bichon Frise -- but Bo is adorable. And owning a dog, brings so much tenderness, reality and joy to anyone's life. Bo seems to have such a great disposition and personality: no barking, interested, playful. What a treat these pictures are.

Thanks Mrs. T and Leah D. for the photos. They are great.
The girls look like they are having so much fun! Wonder who gets Dog duty tonght?

Leah, I don't just love Bo's socks... I'm loving Sasha's cute pink ones!

And thanks to Willow for the photos link too (I've bookmarked that website that I didn't know existed!)
And thanks to Janelle for the BBC link and to mimi for Michelle's essay link! mimi, I posted your link over at HuffPost for all of the whiners over there that were complaining on the STYLE section that were saying that there is always only clothes articles and never anything of substance! Hahahaha! Maybe that will calm them down a bit. I don't understand why people go to Style and Fashion pages and then complain that people are talking about Styly and Fashion!

I'm so not a dog person, and this dog had me at "woof!" Mrs. O totally seems like she's trying to step up and get comfortable with Bo - such a good woman she is. You could always tell she was less than thrilled about getting a dog, but knew it meant a lot to her girls, so she's going to make it work - vintage Mrs. O. She will rise to the occasion for the greater good (in this case her family).

Malia loves that dog. She's going to gladly take care of him. Sasha is timid, but I noticed that Sasha's kind of shy in public, so that could be part of why she wasn't as animated over the dog as her big sis.

And Mr. O is going to totally love on that dog more than the rest.

This is an all around cute situation for them.

I think Sasha is a little on the fence about Mr. McWoofersons. When I was that age I didn't like dogs jumping up on me, so I understand. It'll work out I'm sure.

Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 10:53 PM | Unregistered CommenterChristina

i hope dog works out for them, i know someone w/one of these dogs they are very active dogs. they need too really train it right away

I think the images of the family shine in spite of all the media they must inevitably be subject to. All these gorgeous photos and the video footage simply reinforce the fact that they are a terrific family, now going through the new dog experience together. And it's great to see the girls appearing to be so typical of girls their ages. It's real, even if it's a surreal environment to all of us on the outside! Bo is a beautiful pup who will bring them much joy, I am sure.

A great family and a great dog! I just loved it when Malia said, "I love him! He's perfect!"

Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 1:59 AM | Unregistered CommenterMrs. G

I think they've bonded.

It's obvious the entire Obama family is completely in love with Bo. And I think Bo has also bonded with the family. He seems quite comfortable. He knows who's boss and is now taking his time exploring his new territory. I think he knows he's found his forever family.

Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 3:19 AM | Unregistered Commentermlaiuppa

Yes! How lovely! He looks fab. Much bigger than I was expecting but he was so happy and relaxed. Love the way Michelle stayed still with the dog while all the noise and clamour was going on, just so he knew someone was with him all the time.

He looks great. Lotsa energy though!!! I laughed when Barack took the dog for a run and Bo took off in one direction while the President was gamely heading in another. Dogs are like that, they go where they want to go!!

(Jean, welcome to the FASHION blog for Mrs O. By the way, what's drolling? Seeing as droll means funny are we funnying on about Mrs O's style? What is that? Or did you mean drooling? Or drawling? So confusing....)

Thanks for the photos, Leah D. On slide #28 - are those holes all over the shoes metal grommets? Those are very cute flats.

I love those black shiny pants with the little side vent on the legs. They can be dressed up or down.

These are great family shots - they look happy and relaxed.

Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 8:31 AM | Unregistered CommenterBevi

Slide 44 - those ARE grommets all over the shoes! And no side slit on the pant leg. I made that up!

Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 8:35 AM | Unregistered CommenterBevi

Oh, man, is there ever an "I'm the big sister and it's MY dog and you can play with him when I say so" vibe going on! Not to mention an "I don't care if you ARE allergic, I wanted a fluffy dog and it's not FAIR!" vibe.

I remember those days . . .

Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 10:32 AM | Unregistered CommenterHyde Parker

Isn't it always the case? Mom ends up being the one holding the leash! :) Better teach him to heel! Oh, and by the way, this blog is about FASHION, to those of you who for some reason, (???) did not realize that. It is great to talk about everything else--what Mrs. O is attending or the new dog, but really, it is all about the clothes! :)

Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 11:22 AM | Unregistered CommenterAlisa

It's bad enough with two (supposed) grown adults in the house with a new puppy!!!

Leah D thank you for the link to the kitchen garden - it's looking great. I love that there is rhubarb. I haven't done rhubarb yet. Although I do make rhubarb schnapps!

The more I look at that black coat, the more I like it...

Anybody know who makes those flats? They're adorable and she's worn them before!

Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 1:05 PM | Unregistered Commentercavesq

Loved watching this. Mrs. O is clearly a newcomer at this-Bo is basically leading her! LOL Bo is clearly in need of some training.

Reminds me of when my family and I had dogs. My mom ended up taking care of the dog...big surprise...but I'm pretty sure Mrs. O won't allow her daughters to slack on their commitment.

I love the fact that Mrs. O is hands on-and that she has been wearing nothing very remarkable...like the rest of us.

Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 4:16 PM | Unregistered CommenterSildi

that dog is going to run the house, it is untrainable. we have a wheaton terrier, similar in temperament and we spent tons of money trying to train her. it didn't work and she does whatever she wants to do. this i can see is what bo is going to do. oh well, all they want is a lot of love, so....

Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 5:05 PM | Unregistered CommenterMerele

OT; Does anyone know what kind of white blossom trees are blooming in the background? The pink blossoms look like cherry trees, is that right? I know this is about fashion and style so excuse the questions, I'm from outside the US. Thank you!

Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 6:29 PM | Unregistered CommenterChrisL

Bo is clearly in need of some training.

Bo needs less training than the Obamas do. Like all new dog owners, they're fumbling around. The puppy's being trained; they'll likely undo everything that's being done, unless the trainer trains them. Which is what all good dog training is - people being taught to teach.

Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 7:01 PM | Unregistered Commentert'other Mrs. O

@ChrisL:
Those could be dogwood trees.

Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 7:53 PM | Unregistered CommenterChristina

Does anyone happen to know what kind of jacket Malia is wear?

Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 8:46 PM | Unregistered Commenterinsertcoolname

ChrisL, the white and pink trees are crabapple trees (Malus sp.). The darker reddish ones are Eastern Redbud (Cercis canadensis). There are other trees and shrubs with a lot of color, too -- Japanese maple, forsythia and dogwood, as Christina noted.

What an adorable family!

Simply the best...

Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 4:33 AM | Unregistered CommenterAudrey

Hey hey hey! Easy there! They've only had the dog twenty minutes! I think they'll shape up just fine - they just need to get settled in together and they'll get on OK. new dog owners need to get their heads around a lot of stuff in, like, a DAY! I did OK, and I can't imagine Michelle's going to do a bad job with the dog, she's too conscientious.

Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 8:00 AM | Unregistered CommenterPosh Tater

Thanks for the photos. Boy!! is he adorable or what! He is a handful. They need to get one of those retractable FLEXI leashes.

Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 9:27 AM | Unregistered CommenterSuji

How 'normal'they all look. The President still in his 'work clothes' and you can just see Michelle and the girls not doing a 'fashion shot', they just came out of the house in whatever they had on to walk the dog. They could be in a park, until you see the WH fountain. When the PResident put his arm around his daughter, it was just a great photo of a wonderful loving family. The PResident has a wonderful easy way w/ the reporters, and i think they respect and appreciate his easy sense of humor.

Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 11:33 AM | Unregistered CommenterJO

Why do they have to keep the dog on a short leash? Why can't they let him just run around?? It looks like BO is leading everyone on a merry chase. Ha ha.

Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 3:39 PM | Unregistered CommenterTootsie

OT :Thank you insertcoolname and t'other Mrs. O for the botanical info. Nice trees you have there!

Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 6:06 PM | Unregistered CommenterChrisL

Tootsie when you get a new dog it's advisable to keep them on the lead for a while when you go out, while you get used to the dog, the dog gets used to you, and in this case, while the dog gets used to a pack of journalists and their sound booms (I really thought one of those was going to end up in the First Dogs mouth)! I was told to keep my rescue dog on the lead for two weeks and then let him off for a short time each day, to make sure he came back. Although I'm sure Bo wouldn't get very far if he did take off (hard to run away when the world's press and US Security Services are watching your every paw) the Obamas need to get Bo used to what he can do, and what he can't.

Thanks, Posh Tater.

Actually, I don't know much about dogs, and didn't understand about the training, etc. I appreciate you sharing about that.

Leah D pls dont lable sasha, she is not timid, she sure didnt sound timid to me during the DNC convention. How many 7 year olds will be able to handle that kind of attention.

Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 5:05 AM | Unregistered Commentershazy

Just a soap box thought...timid, shy, bold, all meaningless labels. In the right situation, everyone becomes bold, just take away food and water for a few weeks and see how many would just sit, wither and die because they are timid and shy. None would. off my soap box now..

I'm just wondering why Barack didn't dress more casual. I'm sure this photo session was scheduled far in advance. He surely had time to change into a suit afterwards. I guess he is concerned with looking "presidential". I love the way Michelle Obama doesn't hesitate to dress casual. Imagine if she wore a dress to walk the dog, work in the soup kitchen and plant her garden. I love the capri pants on her.

Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 3:31 PM | Unregistered CommenterRuth Leslie

I like the description of JO, above, about how normal they looked with dad in his "work clothes" and mom and the kids coming out of the house with the new puppy. It just happens to be one of the most important houses in the world. These photos show again how lucky we are to have this family living there.
