First Lady Looks

We enjoyed this recent segment from The Wendy Williams show and thought you might too. The segment features Isabel Gonzalez Whitaker, Senior Editor at InStyle magazine, on hand to discuss Mrs. O's style. (Thanks to the Witches' Brew for the tip!)

Check out the Michelle Obama Style Diary for more great coverage from InStyle. We heart them.

very fun. I loved everything except for the white coat with black trim. That wasn't very flattering.

The video piece was quite interesting! I love the first lady and it is such a great joy to see how she's impacting the fashion world.

Yay, Thanks for posting Mrs. T! I was sad to see this segment was airing on a Friday night when most of us Mrs.O lovers are out on the town, so this is perfect that we can catch it on Mrs-O.org Love it!

This was an interesting segment. I love Wendy's show - it is so funny.

FASCINATING how the First Lady is creating fashion news.

I dont' see a lot of women wearing belts mid-waist, but I'm sure her influence is more feminine layers and high/low glamour.

river rush that's so odd to see you write that. I see that look EVERYwhere. On teenage girls in the high street, on young professional women going to work, mums doing the school run, women out shopping, in the supermarket... it's rife! And it's been rife for years here. The empire line, high-belted-cardigan has been running around England for at least years. Belted coats for eons. I used to update a coat by changing the belt every winter. Or a ribbon if I was going out.

I really liked the segment, thanks for sharing it Mrs T. The show looks lots of fun. You know, you're eroding my faith in a life without TV. Twelve years I've managed not to watch, and now you're showing cute bits of TV that begin to make me think "maybe we should get cable". Sigh. I ... must ... resist!

Agree with Mark that the black and white coat was hideous. Never put a double breasted coat on a woman who isn't pole slim or she WILL look like a wall.

I just noticed the Ann Taylor ad on your sidebar, Mrs. T. Ruffled LBD with bright blue boyfriend's sweater. Definite Mrs. O influence there! (and a very cute look.)

This was a cute segment. Yeah, River Rush, I am like Posh and am surprised that you don't see women wearing belts mid-waist. Wear I live, we have been wearing them like that for a couple of years or so. I am in my late twenties and even my 18 yr old sis and her friends wear them like that. It probably depends on wear you live. I will admit, though, that it has died down a bit.

I do not agree that the Princeton grad looked like "a wall" in the white coat. I thought she looked great! I am 5'10" w/ ample curves and I just bought a short red double-breasted wool coat. I think it's beautiful, and I have gotten lots of compliments. The only model I thought looked awkward was the tiny Asian woman who was absolutely swimming in that sheath.

Really interesting feature. The purple sheath looks just like a Halston pattern I made for myself around 1975. Style coming around again!
