Must See Mrs. O

We began our morning by watching The Today Show's great profile on Mrs. O, which highlighted some of her best style moments and discussed the influence she'll bring to the White House. Presidential historian, Doris Kearns Goodwin, comments:

"Because of the kids, she's going to be mom-in-chief, that's her absolute priority. But just the mere fact of her style and her flair, it's going to make her reminiscent of Jackie [Kennedy] ... On the otherhand, this is an extraordinary moment in history. She's going to want to do something and use that platform for work/family values."

I agree that I hope she doesn't turn the White House into Camelot right away. But I am anxious to see how she balances being a Jackie type First Lady and a Hillary type as well. I'm so excited for her!

Okay, I can not even believe this site exists. This is so fabulous! But why not, I suppose... makes sense that other people would notice how amazing Michelle always looks. Bookmarking and looking forward to the following her style!!

I don't think it's fair to compare her to Jackie O, Style wise maybe, but she's far more accomplished and has much more depth than Jackie. I think she'll be somewhere in between Jackie and Hillary- basically looking good while kicking ass.

I'm thrilled to discover this site. Michelle has fascinated me from the beginning and I feel she'll be an extraordinary First Lady. My only disappointment with her so far is her choice of a dress for election night. I know it was a designer dress, but I hated it. She's so attractive and it didn't do her justice. Looking for her to do great things. Go, Michelle!

It was late in the game before I settled in on a choice for my vote. In no small way the nomination of Sarah Palin for vp sealed the deal. Not only did I not agree with her policies and lifestyle choices, it turns out she never had a hand dressing herself in those loaner duds. As we all know, how we put ourselves together determines how we feel and behave, not just for special occasions but on a daily basis. If Michelle Obama threw a smart, short black cardigan over that beautiful election night sheath, she may have realized at the last minute the dress was just a little too much fun for the gravity of the night (but I bet it looked smashing later)—— or maybe she was cold! In any case you can bet she was thinking for herself, and that speaks volumes for her future as FirstLady. Bravo!

MRS. OBAMA HAS EXCELLENT TASTE IN CLOTHING, AND SHOULD NOT RELY ON DESIGNER DUDS.....THE RED/BLACK DRESS LOOKED LIKE A RED APRON ON A BLACK DRESS. I DIDN'T LIKE IT, BUT ON MRS. OBAMA IT DIDN'T MATTER. SHE'S JUST WONDERFUL.

I am a wife and mother of 4. I am battling losing weight(100lb goal), at times I am not motivated, however just looking at our new First Lady and knowing that she is juggling just as much as all of us working mothers and wives and she still takes out the time to keep her appearance up and the appearance of her children(she decides what they all wear like me, on budget!) it is inspiring especially when you need a little push to keep on keepin' on!I will loose the weight and while I am doing it I will take out the extra minutes to look good doing it!!!

Please Mrs. O, get a designer to help with your clothes and a hair stylist for your hair. You deserve it and need it. Barack always looks impeccable. You know you will be scrutinized and criticized. I admire you for being thrifty but now is not the time.

I think there is plenty of room to compare Michelle O. with Jackie O., besides the "O" and the First Lady status. Jackie was extremely smart (and yes, deep) and spoke 7 languages, which helped the presidency of her husband, JFK.

Michelle is a lawyer and equal to her husband in intelligence and will be an asset to her husband as a First Lady, and both women are gorgeous and stylish and lovely people.

And not to point out the obvious, but I will: Both JFK and BHO and their wives make striking couples to have in our history of White House residents. It's going to be a fun time for fashionistas!

The black and red dress just didn't show up well on TV. I bet it looks nice in other settings, just not at night under glaring lights.

It's so nice to have a strong woman as first lady. I can't wait to see those little girls in the Whitehouse.

What a strange site this is. There is only one Jackie Kennedy, and I am a Republican. She was graceful, demure and mystique, besides very private. There is absolutely no comparison when it comes to Michelle Obama and Jackie Kennedy Onassis. While I appreciate out-spoken women, being a First Lady requires grace and a shut-your-mouth attitude when it comes to anything she may disagree upon in politics. She has to support her husband through thick and thin and not give her thoughts on anything publicly. I do not admire her nor do I envy her. I respect Jackie and Laura Bush immensely.

Yes Sharon you are very right.... there is no camparison between Michelle Obama and Jackie Kennedy thou i am very fond of both women Jackie kennedy didnt add much to the white house other then a pretty face and a good sense of style and ..(Which Michelle has too!)and unless you are living in the middle ages and think that women are second class citizens of the world would it be right to think that the only way to support your husband is to agree with every word he says...

America needs a first lady who understands that she too has a role to play in the betterment of the conutry and not just smile and wave as a public muse, i think Americans are really lucky this time around as they are now 2 leaders in the White House. the way i see it the real support a wife can give her husband is to let him know when she think he could do better.... After all two great minds is, will always be better then one.

THou you may not admire or envy her she will be the woman who will try to bring the change women need in the country and i am confident that by the end of her term as first lady she would have dedicated her time to make your life as a women in America just a little better, where the women you admire so much have done nothing with their grace and shut-your-mouth attitude.

And for that I do and will always have great repect and admiration for Michelle Obama - "Yes she will"
