Mrs. O Does Push-Ups

For those who missed Ellen on Thursday, this video is a must-watch. Mrs. O and Ellen do push-ups ... and a lot of them! On the fashion front: a Duro Olowu top and Reed Krakoff blazer, both worn previously by the first lady.

Gee Nyon, overreact much? Who here said anything about skin color? Answer: nobody. A few people offer a little tepid criticism and you go all-out ecumenical and pen a prayer to the Lord?
Get a grip.
I have the highest respect for President and Mrs. Obama. I believe they demonstrate strong family values, integrity and represent the American people extremely well. Promoting health and physical fitness is not "tacky" or "undignified." The cruel and disrespectful remarks made against the President and First Lady are. People, it is time to take the high road.
Posh Tater....thanks for "breaking it down!"
I LOVED this video and love our first lady!! Even not getting your chin to the ground, it's very hard to do 20 pushups. I can hardly do one "regular" pushup; but can do about 12 girls pushups. Wow I have some work to do. She is such an inspiration!
I see you Joss!!!
Hey CID!!!
LOL, Posh, What you said!!!
Hi Bevi, I miss you lady!!!
I think our Michelle is really cool, and for those who have commented that she's being undignified as First Lady I offer the following…..
"Do what you feel in your heart to be right, for you'll be criticized anyway. You'll be damned if you do, and damned if you don't."
~ Eleanor Roosevelt
@Charlene, he does kick one's butt, eh but sooo worth it!!! @ Nyon, luv ya !! and Amen PT :-)
Dear Lord, did y'all see the clip of Mrs. O in tug-o-war with Jimmy Fallon in the Blue Room. Oh Dear Me, this Lady just keep on upsetting folks with her fitness and super duper fun self.
Ms. T.,
Will you please post the video of Mrs. O and Jimmy Fallon promoting "Let's Move" at the WH? It is just as inspiring and delightful as the one posted above with Ellen; and Bo is in this one!
Okay, people, this is my "realm" (for lack of a better word). I've been a gym rat for YEARS now. I first got inspired to really tone up when I saw Madonna sometime after she had her first child. I thought, "if she can look THAT toned at her age, I can look better at my age (I'm younger than Madonna, but not by much). I've noticed that working out for some of us is like maintaining proper dental health! I look better than I did 20 years ago! And my routine bloodwork/health tests are perfect. I find nothing at all improper about the First Lady doing pushups. MAYBE had she done them in a sports bra and nothing else covering her, then I'd object! But, it's no different than George Bush riding his bike, or Bill Clinton jogging or seeing pics of the late Princess Diana leaving her gym, still wearing work-out wear.
Posh thanks for breaking down it down. Nyon you are just too funny! :)
MrsO is amazing. She's encouraging kids (and adults) to be active. She talks the talk and walks the walk. Just like she constantly tells us that kids can have treats in moderation. (She has never said that they can never eat something fattening.) Plus moving allows kids to work off the fattier foods. MrsO is an inspiration to many. I know I really should ignore the senseless negative comments. But is it undignified for her to work in her garden, or paint a habitat for humanity home, or feed the needy? Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But thankfully more people seem to be reasonable.
btw, I saw Jimmy Fallon & MrsO competing at the White House. Jimmy was raving about it on his show last night. He was so impressed by our wonderful First Lady! Bravo MrsO. Keep Moving!!!
once again, i see someone is doing the phony outrage act. as if there is something wrong with doing pushup. please! anyway, some mentioned the fallon show and i looked it up. she and bo are delightful and you can tell fallon had a blast. this is very sweet.

"Let’s Move with Michelle Obama
This is pretty unreal: Jimmy visited the White House and took on First Lady Michelle Obama in a fitness competition as part of the Let's Move! initiative. Let us tell you, it gets intense!"
@ Adear, :0)
Posh Tater...thank you.
DLK, Joan & Ginger,
WTH is wrong with you women? Are you so dense that you're ignoring what the First Lady is promoting? Or are you just using this occasion to release the usual venom that tends to emanate from the likes of you? I think it's both, but you know what, no one with an ounce of sense cares what the three of you armchair "critics" have to say. We all know that in most cases, people like you are so caught up in your bigotry and hate yet are so cowardly you cannot come right out and say what you truly mean. So instead you hide behind a lot of euphemisms and double meanings. But know this, your opinions are of no import to anyone but yourselves. You are therefore welcomed to take it elsewhere because we all know there are other blogs where you'll find other cohorts and kindred spirits who subscibe to your brand of ignorance and hate. So as one comic used to say..."get to stepping!"
@ Nyon,
From your lips to God's ears....
@ Calipurnia,
There's none so blind as he (she) who wouldn't (or refuses) to see!!!
