Bon Voyage

The Os are off to Moscow! Mrs. O wears a floral Talbots dress, last seen for her May 2009 cover of Essence, paired with a yellow Dear Cashmere cardigan and clear Sonia Rykiel belt. What a lovely looking family!

I say it's a competition and I say we win!!
Mrs. O looks amazing! This outfit is perfect on her! I believe that Mrs. O is teaching American women that it's ok to be expressive and use color, prints and texture in your outfits.
o'Couture'
Bon voyage is a French phrase borrowed into English meaning, literally, "good journey", and usually translated as meaning "have a good trip".
Michelle's dress is by far the best that she's worn. However, in the photo it looks like a negligee. Svetlana's white suit was smart & conservative. Michelle's lovely peach or coral ensemble looked more like the perfect MOTHER OF THE BRIDE outfit. When they had the very casual dinner, Michelle wore an ostentatious necklace , more appropriate for a strapless evening gown or a cocktail dress. who is advising her on what to wear?????
Finally!! Even though the belt is high, the hourglass shape is acheived because of the sweater! Love it, love it, love it!
The girls are adorable!
Nora: I'm in total agreement with you that this look is a "fashion miss" for Mrs. O. Just too many colors going on that are not even in the same palette. The drsss is great on its own, but there is no yellow in it, and the cardigan clashes. Also no purple, so why the purple belt? Why ANY belt, especailly over the cardigan? I know that she has a beautiful blue cardigan that would have looked so much better with this dress. It seems sometimes that Mrs O. just does not know how to put her colors together, which is a shame for such a lovely woman. It detracts from her beauty.
he's always checking her out!
I am not a big belt fan -- partly because I think they are uncomfy and bunch up -- so I kind of transfer that knowledge to what she's wearing. I do have to admit that i like the clear one because it does not break up the line of the clothing!
Whether Mrs O looks good in something or not, she is rarely dressed appropriately for the occasion or the season. I hate the big belts that she keeps sticking on everything lately OVER her coats and sweaters. If she likes big belts, then buy somethign that already has one. Sticking a clear one on in hopes that it will then go with everything is tacky and unattractive.
Also, belting an OPEN coat or sweater looks wierd. The print of this dress is nice for a very casual occasion--garden party, picnic or visit to the kids' school during the daytime.
I do like that she wears color and doesn't always show up in black, blue or red like so many others before her. The Prez always looks as though he stepped out of GQ. She just does not have the sense of style or the physical grace that he does.
To M O.
Please - enough with the belts.
You're overdoing a good thing. A great belt every now and then is a great statement.
At the moment, it's soooo predictable and beginning to get way toooo boring!
I'm sure she's not reading this blog, I mean she is kinda busy being the FIRST LADY and all!!!
I do not like Michelle's outfit here! The shoes are too dressy for the outfit and the hair is just ugly. She needs to fine-tune her casual style a little more. She does great with the state occasions (disembarking from the plane, the yellow dress, etc.) but not so great with less formal situations.
