Pretty O

Photo by Yuri Gripas / Reuters

Mrs. O attended a meeting with representatives from Corporate Voices for Working Families, an organization that aims to improve the lives of working families.

First Lady Mrs. O told the group:

"We need to discuss flexible work hours. We need to discuss paid leave for birth and adoption. We need to discuss quality on site child care."

Mrs. O is wearing the floral Etro blouse we got just a peek of in Strasbourg, over a lilac camisole. The layered tops are cinched at the waist with a studded belt by Sacai.

Maybe it's just the angle of this picture, but the belt seems to chop her in half and make her look heavier than she actually is. What a shame because the colors are flattering and her make-up makes her glow.

FLOTUS tends to wear her belts quite high on the waist. She did that in Prague too. Clearly, that's her style since we have so many examples of it already. Speaking of personal style, I think I should create one for myself too. Mrs. O has truly been an inspiration and I'm now thinking about my own wardrobe. I haven't thought about that in years!

I have to agree with Audrey. There is a difference between having an expressing an opinion respectfully and expressing it in a rude manner. I have been a loyal reader of this site from day one and used to enjoy visiting and reading all the comments - for or against the FL outfits. Of late I do not visit as much as I am put off by some commenters - one of whom is Mrs A. I appreciate differnces of opinion but I find that many of her "opposite stance" comments are jarring and make me somewhat uncomfortable. One clever way bullies get away with their dysfucntional behavior is by tricking you into thinking you are overrreacting; the damage they unleash is often insidous and cloaked under various guises. BUT! Your instincts are screaming that something is not right. Now this may appear to be an extreme analogy but it hopefully helps highlight my point. I fail to see how comments such as "a dishevlled mess" - (completely rude) or catty references to her facial expressions are in any way justifiable or "just in good fun". Tell me, do these women actually speak to the people in their lives this way? If so, I truly wonder at their social background and educational level. Either that or you must be a very frustrated and unhappy individual. If people like MrsA cannot disagree and express their opinions in a civilised manner they ought to be banned. The moderator/owner of this site has been way too lenient.

Love the blouse, the tank, the skirt. Do NOT like the belt. It's too heavy for the print. Etro makes absolutely gorgeous prints, and a narrow or just a plain belt would have been so much nicer.

I do understand the belt placement: I have a high waist, too, and it's defined because of Pilates. When I wear a belt lower, everything looks kind of droopy.

Interesting, this seems to be another outfit that looks better in video then still pictures. I really think this happens quite a lot with Mrs. O's misfires. They probably look great IRL, in still pics...not so much.

I don't get the wide belts. Not just on her, on anyone. I never have, but that's just me.

As always I love to be able to come here and feed my all too unhealthy addiction to what our lovely First Lady is wearing.

(BTW, the pink dress she has on at the nerdprom tonight is wonderful.)

I think we can all agree that FLOTUS'S outfits always gives us something to talk about.
