Quote of the Day

The New York Times has published a new interview with First Lady Mrs. O in which she discusses various aspects of her new household, including her enviable wardrobe. Mrs. O has quite the sense of humor!
“[President Mr. O]’s always asking: ‘Is that new? I haven’t seen that before.’ It’s like, Why don’t you mind your own business? Solve world hunger. Get out of my closet.”
She teasingly imitated him: “You didn’t need any more shoes. The shoes you had on yesterday were fine. Why can’t you just wear that for the rest of the presidency?”

This site is great! Thanks Mrs. T! Also to the commenters, commentees (which is it?) - Kudos to all of you for keeping the site classy.
There is so much hate / venom spewed out over the internet - it's very cool to be able to read the comments on this site and be encouraged by civility and grace each of you put out here.
Thanks for checking your snarkiness at the "door"!
Keep it up!
I miss Mrs. O...sniff..lol
Just out of curiosity, how many of you find yourselves in your closet pulling out pieces and experimenting with combinations you hadn't considered before? I've come up with whole new outfits I would not dreamed of and have been pleasantly surprised. Over the weekend, I wore a sheath dress with a wide belt. That's new for me. The arms are not where I hope they will be but with Mrs. O as inspiration, they're on the way. Just wondering how it's going for the rest of you. Please share. Ooo, I miss her already.
O-Lover,
Yes I have done the same kind of things. Also, just wearing combinations of things that I find interesting, and not worrying about what other people think. For me it's been more scarves and jewelery just around the house. In the final analysis, it seems that you can look good in more edgy ensembles if you are confident, smiling, and standing up straight.
Also, the pink lip gloss, I can't get enough of it. It floats me through the day.
I too have taken to wearing pink lip gloss!
Me too! I feel a whole new excitement about fashion and about finding my own unique style. Now I'm going to have to try pink lip gloss!
O-Lover, I'm exactly where you are: my arms aren't where I want them to be, but Mrs. O has inspired me (we're roughly the same age) to be better... to work to be my best whatever that turns out to be.
All of you who are mentioning experimenting with clothes in their closet...yes me too! Let's all continue to experiment, mix up pieces we own allready. Lets have fun looking at what we have in a fresh way! YEAH MRS O!!!
"Why don’t you mind your own business? Solve world hunger. Get out of my closet." I love it, Mrs. O has a fabulous sense of humor!
O-Lover, et al, me too. Mrs. O has been a real inspiration. I'm using my old pieces in a new way, and adding fresh new ones (when I can) that I would have never worn before. :)
