The first lady was at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building in Washington, D.C. today to present the Childhood Obesity Task Force action plan, "Solving the Problem of Childhood Obesity Within a Generation." More on the plan can be found here. For the business affair, the first lady reprised a Thakoon Watercolor Gazar jacket, first seen in October of 2009, here. Today Mrs. O remixed the jacket, pairing it with a floral blue top and solid navy trousers.

Date Night

The first lady looked tres chic as she left for a date night with the president last evening. The first couple dined at KOMI restaurant in Washington, D.C.

Mrs. O's date night attire included a black blazer with bracelet length sleeves, a sequined black camisole, and cropped black pants. For accessories, Jimmy Choo Lantern heels, a VBH clutch, diamond earrings and a mixed stack of bangles completed the look. Might the stack of bangles be Mrs. O's new signature brooch?

In the Mix

First Lady Mrs. O hosted a Mother's Day event in the East Room of the White House today, where she acknowledged her mother Marian Robinson, who was seated in the audience (and wearing a sweet, tie neck top).

On the style front, the first lady mixed things up today, quite literally. Her three-quarter length sleeve dress combines a floral top and graphic plaid skirt, brought together at the waist in a twist. The first lady is on a bold style streak as of late. My sense is that this particular look may be a bit polarizing in that it challenges convention. Does anyone recognize the designer?

Update: At last we have the answer! Mrs. O's dress is from the Moschino Cheap And Chic Fall Winter 2010 collection. Seen on the runway, paired with a fabulous pink jacket, here

Wow-Worthy Watercolor

The president and first lady celebrated Cinco de Mayo today in the Rose Garden of the White House. For the occasion, Mrs. O debuted a fabulous new watercolor print dress by Thakoon. The silk sleeveless dress features a bold print and drawstrings at the hip and shoulder, which create a bloused effect. Hoop earrings and yellow sandals completed the fantastic, festive look.

Lovely Ladies

Prior to the Cinco de Mayo festivities, the First Lady Mrs. O and Dr. B joined the president for the signing of the Caregivers and Veterans Omnibus Health Services Act -- a bill that will provide for soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan and their families.

For the signing, Mrs. O and Dr. B each turned to their own take on professional dress. The first lady chose a Zero + Maria Cornejo geometric print dress (first seen last summer in Pittsburgh), paired with a black patent leather belt, drop earrings and open toe heels. Dr. B wore a pale blue skirt suit with a slight ruffle at the sleeve, paired with pearls earrings, a beaded necklace and netural heels.
